About Hanbury Riverside

1982 -               Started trading as a family run business, specialising in selling premium tractor units.
1988 - The business moved to its current location in a purpose built site.
1997 - The business became part of Hanbury Holdings.  However, the day to day management of the business remained unchanged.
1998 - We re-branded to Hanbury Riverside and upgraded our facilities, products and services.
2000 - The millennium year and time fore celebration as we reached our 2000th truck sale!
2002 - Our largest stock purchase yet – 65 used Volvo FH12 Globetrotters in one transaction.  It also saw us buy the Arrows Formula 1 Team vehicles, all of which were left hand drive and all sold as “sight unseen” on the strength of our reputation.
2003 - Saw us introduce Dedicated Contract vehicles which are hi-spec, plain white, running on 12 to 24 month contracts, which came off in 2004.  We raised our profile within the used vehicle market and sowed the seeds for 2004 and the future, to see us expanding our portfolio to include Mercedes and DAF due to their reliability and fuel consumption.
2004 - Hanbury Riverside’s best ever year, selling 289 Quality Vehicles!
2005 - Our momentum was maintained with further investment in the depot and security upgrades, helping to separate us from much of our competition. Sales exceeded our previous best with more specialised vehicles sold than ever before alongside our "bread and butter" premium tractor units.
2006 -

The positive momentum continued in 2006 with sales again exceeding our previous best. We continue to be forerunners in the nearly new premium tractor unit market, carrying an extensive range of Daf, Mercedes and Volvo tractors. Sales of specialist vehicles such as low ride tractors and high cube trailers were again very strong. Our website has been modified making it more informative and user friendly. This has had a very positive effect on our business.

2007-

The market was very buoyant in 2007. With a shortage of new vehicles available to the UK market; we were able to provide a realistic alternative to new vehicles with our excellent source of “nearly new”. As specialists in this area, we were able to supply in excess of 300 vehicles to our customers. The vast majority of these were in the age category of 12 to 18 months old. We continued to strengthen our infrastructure to support our growing position in the market place with some key appointments in service support and investment in our vehicle preparation facilities.

We still have a number of customers today, who first traded with us in 1982!
