Being based around the corner from Lee gives me the chance to see whats on the forecourt on a regular basis. We needed to upgrade and I chose this Daf XF105 6x2 tractor unit. The whole process from start to finish was a relaxed affair and both myself and my driver are very pleased with the vehicle. The trucks looks like new and  Lee arranged for the painting and a damaged fuel tank to be replaced. Nothing was too much trouble for Lee to sort.

We bought our first truck from Lee in 1983 a Volvo F10 us boys (Mick, Paul & Rob) were still at school with dad (Bob) as a one man band. We all followed our dad into haulage, it was 'in the blood'. We all got our class 1 licences and coerced dad into expanding the business and another visit to Lee to buy 2 R reg Scanias followed a couple of years later with 4 Volvo FH12 Globetrotters. 2 Topline Scanias and a further 4 Volvos followed. Our most recent purchases in July 2010 were 3 Volvo FH13 520 and 2 Scania Topline R480,s. As usual all went smoothly and with the help of Lee rebranded the signwriting and coming up with a great design that will see us into the future with modern looking trucks. These 2 vehicles are being collected from Hanbury Riverside by transport operator Stuart Nicol Ltd. Hanbury Riverside managed the works for the extras required. Full cab and plastics painted , Kelsa top bar and lamps, top visor marker lights and LED lamps fitted to rear deflectors, bottom spoiler and mirror casings. All work was meet the customers delivery schedule.

After purchasing two identical units from Lee and his staff during early 2009 we had no hesitation in using his expertise in these further two units which we have just taken delivery of. As before when the two previous trucks arrived these were immaculate inside and out. The trucks had new tipping gear fitted with a full paint job  and sign writing put on, all of which was arranged by Hanbury Riverside with no fuss or complication. I would just like to thank you and your team at Hanbury Riverside regarding the purchase of the Volvo Globetrotter XL 480. After making the decision to trade in our 6 and 8 wheel trucks for one artic unit we started to look for the right 12-18 month old unit. After going to Ipswich on the way back to Sussex and after seeing you advert in the Commercial Motor we phoned you and called in to Riverside. After a few hours, a test drive, some helpful advice from you, a few cups of coffee, we agreed on the purchase of the 480. It was agreed tipping unit to be fitted, truck to be serviced and ready for collection in ten days. To your word we collected in ten days, had a very useful hour with David regarding the digital tacho and a run over the truck and then back to Sussex. The first job was up to York to collect our double decker cattle trailer, ( I thought it only right I had the first run to see if it lived up to expectations.) down to Chippenham with overnight stay to check out the bunk,  and home to Sussex with 50 cattle the next morning. I must say it certainly lived up to expectations and more, a real pleasure to drive.

Unfortunately I was involved in a collision in France with a runaway trailer wheel which came off the truck I was overtaking. Due to my serious injuries I was unable to do anything, however Lee and my son Steve both worked together to get the truck on the road by the due date.
